Welcome
Everything about Pinvas 1.0.0, in the order you will need it. It needs Blender 5.0.0 or newer and adds one tab, Pinvas, to the 3D View sidebar. Press Ctrl+K, or use the search box above, to search every page.
New here? The Overview shows what Pinvas does in one page.
Start here#
- Install: install, update or remove Pinvas, and find its tab in Blender's 3D View sidebar.
- Quick start: put five reference pictures on a board and pack them tidily, in about three minutes.
Using it#
- Add and edit pictures: bring pictures onto the board by import, drop or paste, then select, move, scale, turn, crop, flip and order them.
- Arrange the board: pack, line up, resize and space pictures with the Arrange menu, and change the gap afterwards.
- Judge a picture: check values with greyscale, opacity, brightness, contrast, posterize and a proportion grid, and pick colours with the eyedropper.
- Notes, frames and drawing: add notes and titled frames, draw on the board with Blender's Annotate tools, and lock or hide items.
- Videos: play, scrub and loop clips on the board, and make a clip follow Blender's timeline.
- Stitch videos: play several clips as one video, trimmed and wired like nodes, and send an edit from Blender's Video Editor to the board.
- Use the board with the scene: put renders and viewport snapshots on the board, and send a picture into the scene as a camera background, image empty or image plane.
- Boards and files: keep several boards, export and import them as .pinvas files, export a board as one PNG, and pack pictures into the .blend.
- Dock, undock and overlay: move the board between the sidebar and a window of its own, look through it at your viewport, and move around a large board.
- Keys and mouse: every Pinvas key and mouse action in one place.
